Terms and Conditions (Standard Tours)
These terms and conditions are intended to make sure all our clients enjoy the service provided by Battlebus. We want to give our clients a tour unparalleled in both quality and value for money.
Departure Time
We have a policy of not waiting longer than 5 minutes for people who are not at Place de Quebec for 8.30am (when the tour is scheduled to depart.) So we expect you to be there at least 5 minutes before, and at 8.35am, unless we have heard from you (we will contact your hotel ourselves by telephone), we will leave without you. This policy may sound harsh, but is fair - late-comers put the whole tour time-table in jeopardy, and we want you to see all the sites listed on the tour itinerary.
Payments
We take all payments on the tour day in cash or Travellers Cheques in Euros. We can take GB Pounds or US Dollars - at the tour day's exchange rate, plus a bank charge of 8%. We do not take Travellers Cheques in Dollars, and we do not accept Credit Cards.
Receipt - if you need an invoice or receipt for your tour, please inform us when booking. We will then arrange for the driver/guide to have one ready for you - once on tour we have no means of creating a receipt for you.
Beyond our Control!
W
e accept no liability for: museum closures, bad weather, roadworks, traffic delays, and sites that are inaccessible to the public for any reason beyond our control. We also reserve the right to cancel your tour at anytime for reasons of: staff illness/vehicle breakdowns/weather/force-majeure etc.
Accidents
All our clients are fully insured whilst travelling in our minibus in the event of a traffic accident. You are required to wear a seat belt at all times while in the minibus, and at no time is the drinking of alcohol permitted whilst on board.
Walking the Battlefields
Most sites we visit have paths, steps, hand-rails etc and are easily accessible to visitors of all ages and fitness. However at all sites visited including bunkers, fields and beaches, we accept no liability if you injure yourself whilst with us, including getting into or out of our vehicles. It is your responsibility to wear footwear and clothing suitable for a battlefield tour and for you to have the appropriate travel insurance. Much of your day with us is spent walking and standing at the historic sites of Normandy, consequently all clients are expected to have a level of fitness suitable for such a tour. We can under no circumstances leave a client in our minibus unattended; this is not permitted under the terms of our Transport Licence. We also do not permit children under 12 to take our standard tours.
Disruption of Tour by a client
The Battlebus management reserves the right to eject from a tour or refuse the booking of any person who in the exclusive opinion of our driver/guide is likely to cause distress, danger, annoyance or damage or in any way in the opinion of the driver/guide disrupt the tour. If your tour is terminated as a result of any of the conduct described here, we will not be responsible for any loss, cost, expense or damage sustained by you or any member of your party as a result of our decision.
Personal Property
Our company insurance does not cover the theft of your items or belongings from our minibuses. This is due to the fact that several of the places we visit have specific warnings, advising against leaving valuables in vehicles, because of the possibility of break-in thefts. Although our minibuses have central locking, we still advise you to leave your luggage in your hotel, and to travel light with us.
If you need to Cancel
Please let us know ASAP by e-mail or telephone.
There is no penalty fee, but the earlier you inform us the more chance we have of re-allocating the spaces to others.
We assume that by booking with us, except for reasons of ill-health, travel problems or other emergencies you have every intention of taking the tour/tours.
Confirmation
Upon receipt of an e-mail from the person named above (including any third party i.e. a Travel Agent), stating that this PDF file was received, we consider that you and all members of the party have
understood and agreed to these terms and conditions.
